What balloon to buy and what does it cost?

Choosing a balloon can be compared with buying a vehicle. A "super" cabriolet, has a different purpose from a van or a bus, and the same applies to balloons.

The smaller balloons, up to 2.600 m3 are most suitable for private flights for fun and sport. A typical balloon would consist of an envelope, a Komet Duo burner and a K12 basket. This balloon would carry 2-4 people depending on their weight and air temperature. Whilst pleasure flying the envelope could be well carrying advertising and, provided the pilot had the correct licence it could be carrying passengers or important clients. The price of this balloon would be around 700 000 CZK (Sample quotation [PDF, 113 kB]).
A slightly larger 3.700 m3 balloon with the same burner and a K18 basket would take the pilot and 3-4 passengers and cost around 950 000 CZK.
If you want to get into the big time and fly passengers as a business then a BB60 with a K-basket and a Kubicek triple burner would cost around 1 250 000 CZK and carry the pilot and 10 passengers in comfort (Sample quotation [PDF, 113 kB]).
Between these extremes there are a multitude of combinations.

Graphics on the balloon
